Latest figures reveal impressive jump in number of home sales

Portland_Maine_Home Sales_Tru Brit Realty Group_Keller WilliamsPORTLAND, ME: The number of home sales in Maine jumped significantly in September when compared to the same month last year. Latest figures from Maine Listings showed a double digit increase statewide, up by 17.16%.

Meanwhile, the median sales price (MSP) for homes sold last month also rose by 5.97% year on year to stand at $185,450.

The national picture was a healthy reflection of the local scene with sales up by 9.6% from September 2014. The national MSP rose 6.6% to $223,500. The Northeast region experienced a sales jump of 11.8% with a regional MSP of $256,500 representing an increase of 4.0%.
