Single family homes market “stabilizing” with bouyant spring market to come

Portland, ME – A stablizing of the single family homes market in Maine was the message from Maine Listings on producing latest in a stream of steady sales reports over the last few months. The most recent shows that statewide Realtors sold 13.31% more homes in February 2015 than the same month last year. The median sales price (MSP) for those homes was also on the rise, up 4.62 per cent to $167,400 for the same period. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.

Analysis predict a very active spring market as winter loosens its grip and pent up demand from buyers fueled be continuing low interest rates is met by an increase in inventory as home sellers release their property into the pool of hungry house hunters.
